Adv. Assaf Lapid, partner in our firm’s Corporate Law department and head of financing, participated in a panel of experts at the Association of Corporate Counsel in Israel annual convention.

A crisis on the market in general, and in a company in particular, is a big issue that requires adaptation, and the legal counsel can prepare for it in advance, and assist the organization in weathering the storm.

Whether the company is public or private, in crisis situations the legal counsel is on the front lines and has to act in coordination and together with other functionaries inside and outside of the organization.

In the panel the experts presented consideration guidelines that would assist the legal counsels to manage handling the crisis while adhering to regulatory and contractual reporting requirements, maintaining rules of coporate governance and defending officers.

The panelists, who serve as external advisors to the organization, and accompany the legal counsel and management at all stages of business activity, presented in the panel ways to prepare in advance for crisis, and to manage the organization crisis from the legal angle.

The panel was officiated by Adv. Noam Nativ, legal counsel for Zim and a director at ACC, and participated by: Adv. Esther Koren, deputy chair and head of the Corporations, Mergers and Acquisitions department at the Goldfarb Gross Zeligman Firm; Adv. Amit Steinman, managing partner and partner in the Transactions department at the firm of S. Horowitz & Co.
