Last week the Knesset unanimously passed the International Corporate Arbitration Law – an essential law for legal practice, which changes the rules of arbitration when foreign parties are involved.
Adv. Gidon Even-Or, partner and head of the international arbitrations field at our firm, spoke in an interview to Globes on the adaptation of the new law to Israel, and emphasized that it “harnesses the principal of procedure independence and retaining the autonomy of selecting the parties to discuss the arbitration process. The law, however, limits the possibility of Israeli court intervention, unless in defined cases that require assistance to the arbitration process.
