Marking International Data Privacy Day: Webinar on the Role of the DPO Following Amendment 13 – Led by Adv. Eyal Roy Sage
About Related practices

In recognition of International Data Privacy Day, our firm hosted a webinar focused on the evolving role and status of the Data Protection Officer (DPO) following Amendment 13 to Israel’s Privacy Protection Law, set to come into force in August.

With the new amendment introducing a formal requirement for many organisations to appoint a Privacy Officer (PO), the session provided a comparative overview between the GDPR and the amended Israeli law – offering practical insights for internationally active entities and serving as an interpretive guide ahead of implementation.

Adv. Eyal Roy Sage, Head of our Law & Tech Department, noted:
“The requirement to appoint a DPO under the Israeli Privacy Protection Law is practically a word-for-word adoption of the GDPR and related regulatory guidance regarding the DPO role in Europe. This alignment allows Israeli organisations to rely on years of European experience, with minimal adjustments needed for local implementation.”
